This movie was made around 1940 in a series called “Your Life Work”. These short movies were used to help young people choose their vocation.

What intrigues me is the way the narrator speaks about the craft. It makes me realize how much has changed in sixty years. Working with your hands was considered a valuable proposition, an honorable career. So different from the contemporary way of thinking, where the crafts have gotten a bad press and you have to strive for a vague nondescript management function…
