The Stradivari Sundays…

One of the most iconic and copied instruments in the world, the Messiah” (or “Messie”), by Antonio Stradivari turns 300 this year.

I intend to celebrate this fact by making the first sunday of every month to be “Stradivari Sunday”. With blogs, lectures, documentaries and articles about this great maker and his instruments.

Let’s start off with this short documentary titled “Stradivarius and me”. It was made by BBC four, for their “Secret Knowledge” series, on occasion of the large exhibition in Oxford in 2013.

It’s a nice documentary, although they are cultivating the “lost secret” and myths quite a bit.

So stay tuned to learn more about this great maker and his instruments.

Apprentice: The master held it up in the sun light and rotated it once to determine if it was in fact a fiddle.
